Southampton Port Access


From the North, the East and London - access by road to Southampton is straightforward:

From the M3, travel south following signs to Southampton. The M3 becomes the A27 at junction 14, follow signs for Southampton Docks which takes you on to the A33 and then A3024.

  • For the City Terminal (Western Docks - Berth 101) - enter the port via gate 8 or 10
  • For the Queen Elizabeth Terminal (Eastern Docks - Berths 38/39) - enter port via gate 4
  • For the Mayflower Terminal (Western Docks - Berth 106) - enter via gate 10 or 20
  • For Ocean Terminal (Eastern Docks - Berths 46/47) - enter via Gate 4

From the South West - Enter Southampton via A31 from Poole/Bournemouth, exit at junction 3 of the M27 and enter Southampton via the M271 and then the A3024.Follow signs for Southampton Docks and then take the relevant dock gate number.

Passengers travelling to their Southampton cruise terminal by rail should alight at Southampton Central Station and proceed with their baggage to the main exit. Taxi services are readily available whilst a number of cruise operators operate a courtesy coach transfer between the station and the terminals.

Departures from London (Waterloo Station) are operated by South West Trains and are scheduled to depart every 15 minutes during the day

The journey time is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

Southampton Coach Station is located in the centre of Southampton next to the West Quay retail park. National Express coaches operate from London (Victoria) Coach Station - the journey time being 2 hours 15 minutes.
